Embracing Our Heritage

Supporting Indigenous Artists

Studios of Solidarity works in collaboration with artists to create clothing, clothing accessories, and home decoration items. What sets Studios of Solidarity apart from other Indigenous apparel companies is that we give a 10% royalty to the artist who designed the piece.

Uniquely, each product developed by Studios of Solidarity is accompanied by a QR code on every item, linking to a video of the Indigenous artist discussing the art & design process, while sharing their personal story and the story behind the art.

Our Founder

James Nordli is a status-holding Indigenous entrepreneur from the Saulteaux Nation. He is the son of Indigenous artist, entrepreneur, and Indigenous-themed economist Tamara Goddard. James was inspired by his upbringing in Indigenous communities, surrounded by Indigenous artists. His business draws inspiration from the rich stories and art of Indigenous peoples that shaped his upbringing. James is motivated to share their talents with the world through Studios of Solidarity.

Owner James started his entrepreneurial journey driven by a desire to start a clothing & home decoration business that showcases both Indigenous art and culture in Canada. Studios of Solidarity’s debut collections will feature the art of Tamara Goddard and his talented partner Amira Carrier of the Piapot First Nation.
