The art on the front was created by Tamara Goddard of the Saulteau First Nation. Tamara produced this piece to honor the children lost to residential schools, the 60's Scoop, and other atrocities that occurred in the not-so-distant past.
In healing these wounds, this artwork depicts teachings being passed from elder to child. The elder burns sacred medicines in a smudge bowl as she shares her teachings. The Phoenix rises from the ashes, becoming an eagle that carries the prayers of our people to the Creator.
